A Note About Your Privacy
Recently, there has been a lot of buzz in the home inspection industry regarding home inspection related vendors, and home inspection companies that receive kickbacks or discounts for providing your personal contact information. There are a number of businesses that like to obtain client information for home buyers. Everything from home improvement contractors, cable and satellite companies, home security companies, and the like are interested in your contact information.
If your home inspection includes a warranty from the inspection company, please be aware that the inspection company may receive a discount on their cost of the warranty if they provide your contact information to them, so that the warranty company may sell this information to third party vendors.
Also, recently a few home inspection reporting software companies have been acquired by major holding companies that also own home insurance companies. They are requiring home inspectors to add verbiage to their inspection agreements that sates that the clients personal information may be used by third party vendors.
With Timberland Home Inspections, we never provide your contact information to any third party vendors. We operate our business with the mindset of how we would want to be treated by a service professional.
Approximately one week after your inspection, you will receive an email offering to sign up for a monthly newsletter that will help you maintain your home. This is not to solicit your contact information, it is simply a newsletter, and if you do not wish to receive the newsletter, you can simply delete the email. You may also cancel the newsletter at any time if you do not feel the information is valuable to you.
